Is it Difficult to Say "Thank You Teacher" ?

Finally I have the time to post something. I have been waiting to blog about this for quite some time now but I had a second thought about it, whether want to or not because I do no want to hurt anybody. Well, I don’t care about it anymore….this comes deep from my heart……………….
Recently I was entrusted to help a group of students (I do not want to mention who and what they were doing) who were chosen to represent our school for an International competition. I was involved with another teacher and we had to stay back for almost every day. I had been going home 6 p.m. every day while preparing them for the competition. Throughout the time with these students who think they are the best and smartest in school I did notice that they do not have proper communication skill and the worse of all they do not know how to respect the teachers( they have never greeted us with 'good morning' or 'thank you' teacher throughout the time we were with them). Although they were only in lower form that does not give them the licence to behave in such ways. Not only that throughout the period of preparation they were ridiculing us and argued for almost everything we did for them. For them, we were just not good enough and they refused to accept and do whatever we suggested. They had their own boring ideas and they  insisted that they were doing it professionally. Fair enough!!! They lost the competition!!!!…all the other teams did extremely well and there they came in with such a boring show which they insisted to present. God is great!! I thought they have learnt their lesson. But after the competition and when they finally reached home they did not even say sorry or thank you!!!!!...not even a thank you after we stayed back and guided them for two weeks!!! DAMN!!! Initially, I thought I was being too sensitive and also a colleague had remarked earlier, 'this is how students of today behave'. Silly me thought how outdated I was, you know, not keeping up with the current trends! And the fact that this was only my second week in the school made me think I had probably not understood the culture well enough and needed to be reeducated. And so I let the matter rest. However, a few days later, another teacher who was with us throughout the training session commented on the same thing that the students never said 'thank you' to her and behaved as if she was a stranger! They did the same thing to me wherever they saw me in school after the competition itself!!!  And then more and more comments came. And I thought I was alone...
Why is it so difficult to say 'thank you'? even if the teacher was not your favourite, or you didn't quite get along with the teacher, I am sure you must have learned something from him or her. There's absolutely nothing wrong for a student to show appreciation to her teachers. This should start from home they will only respect their teachers if their parents do so.....
What has happened to good manners!!!? It doesn't cost you anything to say 'thank-you'.
Well if you don’t, it only shows your cocky and arrogant character…oh ya!!! there was this girl in this group who shows a sour and rude face whenever we ask her to do something or if we scold her for her wrong doings.
By the way after being in this school for one month I find it that not all girls are like them…most girls are so adorable and they show respect to each and every teachers in this school .It was only that one group gave me a culture shock. However, If I were to teach them in future I will definitely teach them a lesson on how to respect teachers and elders that they will never forget till the end of their lives!!!!

Incredible India!!!!

Had a great vacation in India though it was scorching hot there....The temperature was 38 degree celcius...yet I still had a great vacation with my family. visiting the ancient temples was the most memorable experience.....I was awed by the architectural design of the temples, it was simply superb...I felt peaceful and serene whenever I entered the temples there. The positive energy can be felt at any parts of the temples the made me felt the presence of God.....The temples are evidence of the Hindu Civilization which is a prove that Hinduism is the greatest religion on earth....I would definitely want to go to India again but the next trip will be as a pilgrim....I only get to visit a few temples in India during this visit, so I have decided to visit all the temples in India one day....For now that is all about my vacation and now I have to gear up for the upcoming Melta Conference in Kuching on the 7th and 8th June. I will be taking part in the Creative Teacher's Showcase....Will upload my product here after the conference....Wish Me Luck!!

English is a stupid language???

There is no egg in the eggplant,
No ham in the hamburger
And neither pine nor apple in the pineapple.
English muffins were not invented in England,
French fries were not invented in France.

We sometimes take English for granted, but if we examine its paradoxes we find that:

Quicksand takes you down slowly,
Boxing rings are square,
And a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.
If writers write, how come fingers don't fing?
If the plural of tooth is teeth,
Shouldn't the plural of phone booth be phone beeth?
If the teacher taught,
Why hasn't the preacher praught?
If a vegetarian eats vegetables,
What the heck does a humanitarian eat?
Why do people recite at a play,
Yet play at a recital?
Park on driveways and
Drive on parkways?
How can the weather be as hot as hell on one day
And as cold as hell on another?
You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language where a house can burn up as it burns down,
And in which you fill in a form
By filling it out
And a bell is only heard once it goes!
English was invented by people, not computers,
And it reflects the creativity of the human race
(Which of course isn't a race at all.)
That is why:
When the stars are out they are visible,
But when the lights are out they are invisible.
And why it is that when I wind up my watch
It starts,
But when I wind up this poem
It ends.

Isn't this is funny?? anyways this is not from me I found it on the internet when I was surfing this morning.....

The Straight A's Fever......

Dear students,

You sat for the PMR examination two months ago and since that day you have been waiting for tomorrow a day where all the questions will be answered.....I know the questions that will come to your mind at this moment....."Will I get A for Sejarah?',"Gosh!!! I What am I going to get for my English?" ...."Will I get straight As???...hahahahaha

The PMR results will be out tomorrow....I could see that all of you are nervous to death....hahahah....it is ok...it is just PMR and there are more challenges are waiting for you in future....if you score in flying colours take that as a way to move forward in your life.......and if you do not get a result that is up to your mark....its ok, you know how much effort you have put in it....there is no point crying over the spilt milk and it is not too late to mend your mistakes .....you can make a fresh start and prove you are worth it in your SPM....for those who score excellent results, do not get too excited with your results as it is time to pull up your socks and maintain your excellence in SPM....as SPM is no joke and you have to really work hard for it.........

I know that some of you have been working really really hard to obtain straight As......and what if you do not get straight As?? What will you do if your result is smudged with one or two Bs.....Does that really matter to you....???? Take my advice a few Bs in your result does not make you stupid... It is not the end of the world...At the end of the day if you get straight as and you do not know how to present yourself.. if you do not know how to communicate with others....if you do not even know how to speak in proper English....do you think people will look up to your straight As.....???? Trust me in reality when you start looking for a job or apply to a higher learning institution educational excellence is not the only criteria that will be evaluated there are so many things that will evaluated....your extra c0curricullar activity, communication skills....problem solving skills etc etc etc.....remember you will not be able to stand tall with straight As alone...there are so many things that you have to work on....and remember nobody is perfect.....so don't be dissappointed if a few A's are missing in your results and move on with your life.......Good Luck....

your teacher.......

3B The Cream Of The Crops

I was assigned to be the form teacher of class 3B in the beginning of this year. At first I was furious and reluctant to accept the 'burden' of being a form teacher as I was already burdened with other activities and duties at school. However, after giving it a deep thought I decided to take the challenge for once as I have never been a form teacher all this while. Colleagues told me that being a 'father' to a good class is much much easier!!! but they were wrong.. I faced different genre of challenges....my cute students are very loud and they speak their mind. Sometimes they laugh for no reason for almost one whole period and sometimes the class will be extremely quiet....The most challenging task was asking them to clean the classroom every morning...Phewwwwwwwwwww!!!!! it was very difficult to make them sweep the floor every morning ( Thanks to Amanda - never sweeps the floor until the teacher calls her name) also thanks to Janet,Chun Ling and Wie Chien who swept the floor throughout the year on their "duty - day" without me asking them to do it......on the other hand I have Kevin, Michelle, Develyn and Albert who is suppose to clean the windows on every Monday and Friday..when I ask them to clean the windows on Monday they will say that they will do it on Friday and vice versa.....the windows will be crystal clean when I start to yell at them.....hahahaha.....I also have other witty characters in my class such as Timothy and Loo Cheah Hong... They are our clowns and they complement each other....not forgetting the 3 stooges of my class - Irvine, Halif and Francis....owh my Monitor is Vernon Hau and his assistant is Jennifer...she has a very loud and clear voice. The boys in my class are really scared of her ..sometimes I just love to see her yelling at the boys on top of her voice.....I also have angels in class 3B Esther, Tang Siaw Ting, Chew Jia Xin and Chieng Siew Hong, just to name a few..........my sleeping beauties are Amanda, Hii Chan Jie and sometimes Michelle Wong. They seem to be soooooooo sleepy the whole day. Sometimes I wonder what do they do at night? Hahahaha....After being their form teacher for almost 9 months I really felt that I had a wonderful year with them although they have won "Anugerah kelas terbersih" for only once ...For me 3B is the best.....and our momoland will come to an end soon... I wish all of you good luck for the coming PMR examination and I will pray for all of you.....for those whom I didn't mention your name her, it doesn't mean that I do not remember you...I just don't have the time to type all your names....hahahaha...gosh I"m going to miss all of you.......

It's time to go back to school. As all of us know the PMR examination is just around the corner ( 28 days)...so it is time to do last minute preparation.. I hope students have done the home that I gave them before the holidays....If I say I can' t wait to go to school that will be a big fat lie,......
things to do.....drill, drill and drill tht is what I am going to do with them.....hope everything goes on well...I hope 3R(weakest class I teach) will give cooperate with me....I am really worried about 3R compared to my 3B, 3F and 3I.....

Holi Holidays!!!!!!!

after a tiring and busy semester the much anticipated Raya holidays are finally here, though I do not celebrate Hari Raya, I feel the excitement as I have joined the balik kampung rally and feel the festive mood in my own hometown. I did not go back for Hari Raya for about 6 to 7 years and have almost forgotten how it is like to celebrate Raya in Ipoh.....I have just landed at LCCT Kuala Lumpur and waiting for the shuttle that is suppose to ferry me to my beautiful homeland Ipoh....can't wait to reach Ipoh, can't wait to see mum, can't wait to go for breakfast in Ipoh and eat all the tasty delicacies ( am missing Ipoh Char Kuey Tiaw very much).....and among all can't wait to see my gorgeous JONY!!!!

PEARLS OF WISDOM

Don't love the Heart that hurts you and don't hurt the Heart that loves you.

Don't cry over anyone who won't cry over you.

Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget.

Most people walk in and out of your life, but only friend's leave footprints in your heart.

True friendship "never" ends. Friends are forever.

People are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges.

If we are incapable of finding peace in ourselves, it is pointless to search elsewhere.

The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof.
A change of heart changes everything.

Our greatest glory is not in ever falling, but in rising every time we fall.

You only live once - but if you work it right, once is enough.

One generation plants trees, and the next enjoys the shade.

It is difficult to live in the present, ridiculous to live in the future, and impossible to live in the past. Nothing is as far away as one minute ago.
